Orthodontics
If your teeth or jaw are misaligned, or if you suffer from bite issues, you may not be surprised when your dentist recommends braces to correct these dental concerns. At Roshe Dental, we want you to have a healthy, beautiful smile, so we offer several types of braces for our patients who need orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Roshe has more than 25 years of experience with orthodontics, and he understands that you may have questions and concerns about your treatment. That’s why he spends as much time as necessary answering your questions and formulating the best treatment plan for your oral health.
What Are Traditional Braces?
The most common type of orthodontic treatment is traditional braces; we attach metal brackets to your teeth and then use thin archwires to connect them. The brackets shift your teeth into the proper position while the wires apply the necessary force to decrease your treatment time as much as possible.
Traditional braces have a terrible reputation for being unattractive and uncomfortable, but today’s braces are much better than they once were, and they’re the only effective treatment for moderate to severe dental issues such as:
- Crowded teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Overbites and underbites
- Open bites
- Crossbite
- Periodontal issues
- Chewing and speech issues
Our Other Orthodontic Offerings
In addition to traditional metal braces, we offer other types of braces as well, including:
Ceramic braces – More discreet than traditional braces, ceramic braces use tooth-colored ceramic brackets, making them less noticeable. If you are concerned about the aesthetics of your smile while wearing braces, consider ceramic braces.
Lingual braces –With lingual braces, the brackets and wires are placed on the inside of your teeth, making them nearly invisible when you smile.
Self-ligating braces – This type of braces eliminates the need for ligature elastics or rubber bands. Instead, they use special metal or ceramic brackets to hold your archwires in place.
The Benefits of Braces in Mamaroneck
Before you begin an orthodontic treatment plan, here are some of the benefits of wearing braces that you may not have considered:
Braces Are Affordable
Thanks to payment plans and dental insurance, braces are more affordable than you may think. During your orthodontic consultation, we will discuss your orthodontic costs with you.
Braces Do More than Straighten Teeth
Everyone knows that braces straighten your teeth, but did you know they can also correct your jaw alignment, which can help you chew and talk better? A properly aligned jaw can also keep your teeth from uneven wear.
Braces Are Not Painful
You may have heard stories about how braces hurt your teeth. However, at Roshe Dental, we can assure you that after the initial discomfort of the pressure from the brackets and wires, your braces will not hurt.
Braces Are the First Step
When your dentist removes your braces, your teeth will begin moving back into their original position. That’s why you will need to wear a retainer for about a year to keep your teeth aligned. Thankfully, Roshe Dental has an in-office 3-D printer that can make your retainer on the same day we remove your braces.
