Emergency Dentistry
There’s never a good time for a dental emergency, but they seem to happen at the most inopportune moments. The truth is that most of us will experience a toothache or some other dental emergency at one point in our lives, so it’s essential to have a dental team who will be there for you when the unexpected happens.
At Roshe Dental, please call us when an emergency strikes so we can assess your situation and schedule a same-day emergency appointment to relieve your pain and save your teeth. So, whether it’s during regular business hours, at night, or over the weekend, we can help.
What Is a Dental Emergency?
We understand that you may not know whether your situation is a dental emergency or not, so we recommend you call us for assistance. We never want you to hesitate to contact our dental office because you feel like you’re bothering us; our top priority is your oral health and comfort.
Still, not every dental situation constitutes a dental emergency; if you are bleeding, in severe pain, or in danger of losing a tooth, it is likely a dental emergency. Use these questions as a guide:
1. Are you experiencing severe pain?
2. Are you an adult with a loose tooth?
3. Are you showing signs of an infection?
4. Are you bleeding from the mouth?
5. Did you get a tooth knocked out?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, call our dental office immediately.
Common Dental Emergencies
When you visit our dental office for a same-day emergency appointment, our goal will be to eliminate any discomfort or pain you’re experiencing and save your teeth. Some of the most common dental emergencies we see at Roshe Dental include:
Toothache
Severe tooth pain is your body’s way of telling you there’s a problem. If over-the-counter medication doesn’t help a toothache, you need to contact our dental office. Try using a cold compress or rinsing your mouth with salt water to help with the discomfort.
Lost Filling or Broken Crown
Losing a filling or breaking a dental crown leaves your tooth susceptible to infection and further damage. To avoid further issues, call us for an emergency appointment.
Knocked-Out Tooth
If your tooth gets completely knocked out, time is crucial. We need to see you immediately to try to save your tooth. Until you reach our dental office, try to place your tooth back in its socket, being careful not to touch the roots. If that doesn’t work, store your tooth between your cheek and gums or in a glass of milk.
Abscessed Tooth
If you have a dental abscess, it’s an infection that can be very dangerous and affect your overall health, so contact our dental office immediately if you have a fever associated with a toothache, sensitivity to hot and cold, swollen or tender lymph nodes, or a pimple on your gums near the tooth that’s causing you pain.
